Ray Hayes is Vice Chancellor for Financial Affairs for The University of Alabama System. In this capacity he is responsible for management of the pooled endowment funds and other System accounts and works closely with the campuses in coordinating the annual legislative funding requests and developing the operating budget. He oversees facilities planning and construction activities.
Prior to joining the UA System, Mr. Hayes was vice president for finance and administration at Mississippi State University. He has served as executive vice president for finance and administration at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi campus.
He has been named one of 13 board members of the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers. He also serves on the Advisory Council for the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies. He is active in the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Mr. Hayes received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mississippi State University.
