Governor Bob Riley (president ex officio), Montgomery, Alabama. The 52nd governor of Alabama, was born and raised
in Ashland, where his family has ranched and farmed for six generations.
After graduating from The University of Alabama at age 20 with a degree
in business administration, he returned to his hometown and started a
small business that later became one of the largest integrated poultry
operations in the Southeast. For more than three decades, he was a
successful businessman and cattle rancher in Clay County. Governor Riley
became the first Republican Congressman since Reconstruction to be re-elected
to Alabama's 3rd District in 1998. In Congress, Riley served as Vice Chairman
of the influential House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Readiness.
He was inaugurated as Governor on January 20, 2003. Business
